Experimental Editing

This is one of the more experimental and creative shots I have done, its also unusually colorful for my work. It was taken at the MoreLondon space near London Bridge, behind a cafe, using its textured walls as a backdrop.

The editing was done in Lightroom 3, and used the new grain option to give a nice almost mosaic effect to the image along with increasing the saturation a little.

I'd like to try this same shot again with a proper wide angled fish eye lens to get more distortion.

I've learned little from this shot technically, its a fairly straight forward image taken in a fairly conventional way, what I did enjoy was the post processing which lead to this differentiation of the image. It was moved from generic to something more unusual.

Perhaps that is the most important lesson I could have learned was that so much can be done with an image in the editing room to make it something unique, even if the base image seems to lack that certain spark.
